| A little more info on the problem for those who would be in the same situation:
No backlight, no sound, red power led. After a long press on power key TV will cycle through power and timer leds blinking, power led green, relay on, relay off and back to red power led. Checking small signal (main) board 1.2V power to IC500 is absent, no enable on pin 18 of IC905 (TPS54310). Pin 18 of IC905 can be traced back to the microcontroller IC700 on pin 13 as signal C_P13. (This does not appear on the service manual found and took some time to follow!) After saving a dump then blanking: - IC710 (24C08) -> No change. - IC109 (24C128B) -> Recovered missing 1.2V and backlight for one power cycle, still no video or sound. After power off TV was back to original state. Did not blank IC351 (24C512B) expecting it to be the lowest level of software in the TV and most probably the cause of fault. I also downloaded firmware from Toshiba website but cannot find any clues to what chunk of it (if any...) may be written to the 24C512. |

If you have a working dump for IC351 (24C512) on the rear side of PCB behind IC700 micom, please share. Is there a method to reprogram this software layer via USB or debug port? Thanks. Paul |
