the proper pin/harness going into the inverter board is holding 24.00V where it should be or where they are indicated on the board..
thats leaves the Tcon board or backlight , i think. |

well, adding the flashlight to the front of the screen actually let us see the menue, but since we could not find HDMI input , we could not get the PS3 working to see if we had sound or picture. all there was for choices was AIR, TV, cable.. NO VGA or HDMI in the menue.
So what next???
seems like it might be the Back light !!! |

Just to verify that video is present, shine a flashlight or bright light onto the screen while the TV is running with a known good source. you'll likely get sound with no picture. When shining the light, you should see the proper image on the screen.
Now that you've verified that the problem is only with your backlight, you can begin tracking down the problem.
Check to see if you get 24v at the back light inverter board. If 24v is present, then you likely have a problem with the inverter board or the backlight lamps. |
Ok , will run those tests and get back to you. Where would you like me to put the Vmeter on the INV. board ( Pin# or other point?). so im not guessing! |
