a1 is also known as screen voltage or g2 voltage, it is an adjustment on the line output transformer. |

5 flashes on this set is an auto grey scale error, check setting of a1 control, tubes seem to be failing in these sets earlier than i would have expected. |

Hi,
I have a Sony KV-29K5U to repair. When it is switched on from standby a relay clicks, the sound is ok but no picture. EHT is present and remote control works. After a minute or so the standby LED starts flashing 5 times in between pauses. Another 2 minutes and the picture comes on with poor definition and very rich colour. Can't select brightness or colour on screen menu, only contrast is available. Does anyone know what the 5 flash code means or has anyone found a similar fault?
Thanks |
