|
I have purchased an Autcom motorcycle communication system for providing bike to bike communications using GMRS radios. The Autocom comes with an interface (audio/transmit/PPT) configured for and expecting a Kenwood GMRS radio (TK3101). My radio is a Vertex Standard VX-180 which is a good deal more powerful than the the Kenwood. The Kenwood interconnect for its headset/vox unit uses a two wire plug; one about 1/8" and the other much smaller. The VX-180 uses a one-wire system with four-conductor 1/8 (3mm) plug. The goal is to make the system designed for the Kenwood work on/for the VX-180. I have the pin-out for the Kenwood. I need some knowledge I don't have to create the interface. I need an understanding and pinout of the Vertex one-wire, four conductor system. The folks who sold me the VX-180 radio indicated that it could be done and should work fine since the impedances are almost identical. Does any poster on this forum have knowledge on this that he/she is willing to share?
