I do must agree that it is not worth it.

I could justify spending some more to get additional value for what I have payed already. But this is too much. Wanted to wait for HDTV.

Thank you for response.

Give me an estimation only on the cost of crt? What could be reasonable?
I will do the swapping myself.

Are the new crt:s better than the old ones?

Is there a lot to be adjusted?

THIS CRT IS FITTED TO LOTS OF SETS BY LOTS OF MANUFACTURERS AND FAILS FOR FUN. THERE IS NO CURE OTHER THAN REPLACEMENT. I HAVE PROBABLY SCRAPPED IN EXCESS OF 50 TVS BECAUSE OF PHILIPS CRT FAILURE IN THE PAST 2 YEARS!!!!!!!

Our 2+ year old JVC AV 32H35 SUE TV got some blue tint allover and after a minute shut off. Had it checked and the failure was leaking blue in crt.

Tried to find some info about this ("Edsel") model but have not yet seen anything in the archive. Possibly this model has been sold under a different number in different countries. The crt is made by LG.Philips W76ERF042X044.

Question: Can this be fixed without bying a new crt?

Can not find a reason to buy only crt for 500ˆ when you can get a new 32" crt tv for 600ˆ+
