http://imgur.com/a/d4OeQ 'TH FUSE' internal to the transformer's primary may have opened. Many times carefully dissecting the transformer to get to primary wiring may reveal the terminals. Then is just a matter of 'bypassing' the THermal FUSE. Of course, the transformer will NO LONGER have any thermal protection. |

My daughter just blew the transformer in my r-k22, 33 years old, bought after saving all my money at 15 years old. Fixed radios in Marine Corps, so was able to test and it's the transformer. Any idea where to get replacement? Besides the fact that this cranks my outdoor Bose speakers, it has sentimental value... |

FM/AM presets will stay as long as the machine is on but if left off (AND still plugged in) for about a day or so they are lost. This machine has a Toshiba chip which controls the radio functions. I would guess a capacitor is not holding a charge to this chip? Or the chip itself (Toshiba TC9147AP)? There does not appear to be any on-board battery. Thank you. |
