Did you reset the eeprom options to get the display back, the codes are different for each country. What is the exact model number?, there should be another letter after the 720, G= UK version. regards jon |

I have a Sony SLV SE-720 VCR which upon my return from holiday didn't have a front display and wrong buttons, I corrected this fault using another thread on this forum and the display was back and the buttons worked, BUT . . . now when I press play on the VCR I only get a light grey screen and sound. When I either pause, FFD or RWD the tape I get a picture but press play and its back to the grey screen. Any ideas - I have tried everything I can think of including checking all wires etc. Any advice/suggestions would be great, I'm not the most technical so please try to keep any reply in layman's terms (!!)
