Thank You for replying. I was considering a brand that have provided a good backup service in the past and these are Toshiba, Panasonic or a Sony L.C.D of about 40" H.D widescreen. What brand is 50hm66?
I noticed at the start of last year a company here in the U.K were advertising a Plasma at £1200 but only provided a 3 year warranty for an additional £600 which suggested they are a bit unreliable although things have vastly improved since and prices fallen. |

What kind of set are you looking for? Plasma, LCD, DLP?
My favorite is a 50hm66. Best bang for the buck. Plasma life hasn't been the greatest. |

Like many people these days I am considering replacing a crt television but I have been out of the trade now for a few years and when I left these sets were just out or covered by return to base warranty.
Would appreciate input from front line techs.
Many thanks and a happy new year to all. |
