Repairman came and said that it has a broken circuit board, the convergence circuit. Estimated 400 dollars. Is this plausible cause? (I don't trust repiarmen, they sometimes overcharge) |

Hi,
My HDTV Hitachi Energy Star 51' Screen has recently broke down. The tv turns on, but there is no video/audio and is unresponsive to remotes (except turning on button). None of the tv buttons work except the on and off button. I think this should be a very easy self repair, but I do not know where to start. The only problem I can think of is that the power cord might of shorted and the tv is not getting enough power. Any suggestions of would could I do/what happened? Thanks
