I've pretty well checked all the menu options for the player and the TV. I haven't seen anything that looked as if it would solve the problem but I'll check again. Thanks. |

Not sure if it's "nature of the beast" kinda thing or in fact there may be something wrong with the unit?---Make sure there is not some sort of menu settings in the DVD player audio section to reduce the output? I know for a fact that SOME of these combo players utilized a setting in menu to "soften" the DVD audio due to the much higher dynamic range>>your unit MAY or MAY not have such a setting? |

|
Ever since I bought my first VHS/DVD player I've had trouble with the DVD sound not being loud enough. My TV audio control goes from 1 to 100 and once I hit about 35 or 40 the sound gets no louder. The VHS player does not have this problem, just the DVD. After I replaced my mother's TV this past Xmas, she had the same problem so I'm guessing, at least in her case, it's the TV causing the problem. Watching TV or a videotape, no problem. Put in a DVD, and the audio will only get so loud and no louder. I initially used a coax cable between the TV and the player until someone suggested I try the AV cable with the red/white/yellow connectors, but that didn't help the problem. Anyone have any ideas? |
