you dont need to discharge to replace convergence ics.but make sure you check small value resistors by yoke connectos,near heatsincs for either 1 or 2 open resistors. |

Its been a few days since you posted this; anyway if you haven't fixed it yet,
I can say that in this circuit, I don't think its necessary to discharge these caps. In contrast to working around the primary side of the smps where discharging the filter cap, is advisable. |

If I have the set unplugged, is there stored energy anywhere? Do I need to discharge the energy or can I just remove the screws slide the panel back and remove the 2 STK392-120s ?? |
