Hi there, I just called Honeywell to find out how to do the same thing. I wanted to take it apart for cleaning, and I could not figure out what kind of screws are used in the top and bottom holes. The customer service rep at Honeywell told me that those screw are made to be "tamper-proof" so there's really nothing that can take them out. I thought of using a screw extractor, but I can't find one that goes deep enough into the hole to reach the screw. It sucks, but mine has lasted me over 6 years now and is still going strong, so it may be worth saving the hassle and purchasing a new one for around $45. I absolutely love this fan though!

(I know this reply is several years late, but I figured this info can be helpful to others)

This fan stopped working suddenly one day. I spent $50 on this fan and I'd really like to keep it. However, I do not know how to disassemble the casing. Can anyone help me? The part where I'm stuck is removing the front edge (mine is chromed, in this picture, it's just the black surround on the front. It has clips or extremely weird screws that will not release. I need to get the plastic surround off so that I can remove the switch assembly and take that to a repair shop or replace it. I've disassembled everything else that I can.
