Naw, on the signal board replace the caps by the 5/9 volt regulators. c2p04 is the main culprit. 6 caps in total can be changed. I believe c2p05 also. Change those 2 if that doesn't do it I'll pull the print. |

Also well-known for possible CRT coolant leakage which can cause variety of problems. check for "greenish" corrosion on main PCB under each CRT. |

Most likely, a bad electrolytic capacitor somewhere. When those parts are near failing, they work somewhat better when they are hot.
Look for capacitors that are apparently bad (leaking, swollen top, the shrink tubing around them damaged by heat from the capacitor etc).
Try troubleshooting by heating/cooling (hair dryer / cooling spray) of suspect capacitors. |
