That is actually refered to as "Super Cap" .---Panasonic called it "gold cap"
It is a high value capacitor that was extensively used on majority of brands and is constructed just like watch batteries in series in a package.
Common values were .47 .33 .22 & 1 farad. you can use any of them provided there are no space limitation.
Based on your description ; it is a .22 farad(not microfarad) 5.5 volt capacitor. Do a search for super capacitor |

I have a Sony am\fm tuner that has lost it's battery power to hold the station presets in memory.
I have called Sony and several repair places to try and find out what battery I can get to replace it, but everyone says they no longer carry the manuals on it or the battery.
If someone could post a manual or specs on the battery so I could find it myself I would appreciate it.
The cover on the two batterys has this part number written on it. CG5.5VO.22F |
