last week I saw a dvd film, 2 days ago, my brother insert the same dvd and it shows: CAN'T READ THE DISC. |

| When NOT reading, does it spin the disc at all? how about with a CD?
While it may be a spindle motor problem, more than likely is a laser related issue. Just about all you can do is to try cleaning the lense and if no luck, need to replace the laser which obviously not worth the cost. Firmware issues are usually related to specific prerecorded disc(s) where the machine is simply unable to read content or follow through a specific menu due to lack of embeded instruction on eprom. ---symptoms can not be intermittent in this case. |

| my pioneer dv-454 at this moment, do not read a lot of dvd's, some of them, was read some days ago. original or copy.
can anyone help? I do not know if is lens, firmware or some electronic problem |
