| With most players it is the laser that can causes the problem. ---sometimes I have seen where the "laser drive" mechanism might hang up somewhere along it's travel path which also gives you the same symptoms.
In viewing the position of the laser, is it sitting at home position? (meaning inner most). Just for the heck of it, try moving it back & fro gently by hand & try playing a disc. By chance IF starts working, then it means it is hanging up on the sled which needs cleaning/relubbed---otherwise it's time to chunk it. |

| The pdx-0073 was fine, but half way through the last movie it stopped reading the disc. No smoke, odor, or noises. Now it always shows as 'reading disc' then stops spinning. Need troubleshooting help.
