This must have been a common failure as the 145 added a separate current-limiter pc bd to the unit, which is very simple. I plan to add
this to my unit as well, to protect the output transistors from frying.

But you've converted your 20MHz generator into a 1MHz generator.
OPA547 slew rate is 6V/us, while the Wavetek 145 spec is 20ns at 15Vp-p. The original output transistors are 500MHz parts.

My outputs were fried.
I disconnected the output and replaced with an OPA547.

The manual for the 145 is available on the web for free. Turns out that the 145 is very similar to the 143, but has the added pulse output circuitry.
I think the main board and power supply bds are the same and the schematics and parts lists are in the manual. My unit has a fried output transistor. This must have been a common failure as the 145 added a separate current-limiter pc bd to the unit, which is very simple. I plan to add
this to my unit as well, to protect the output transistors from frying.

Many of the schematics in the manual say 143/145 on them.

Hi,

I just bought a non-working 143 on ebay. Just wondering if you ever found the manual. If not, maybe we can share info anyway.

Best wishes,

Bob
