Begin by reading out the error codes and then go ahead with further troubleshooting related to the error codes you find.
For reading out the error codes, you will probably need an OBD-II scan tool if the car is equipped with an OBD-II diagnostic connector (mandatory in the US from mid-nineties on and usually found in all cars from late nineties on). If there is no OBD-II connector, then it is usually possible to read out the codes as "blink codes" on the MIL lamp, instructions for that can vary between different makes of cars and will be found in the car's service manual. Also, check out Nissan related car technical sites and forums, there it might be possible to find more specific information. |
