Coolant between. You have to remove the len's before you can crack the tube. Remove the 4 3.5 mm screws to crack "open" the tube.

Hi

Sorry for the many questions.

I would like to know if it is possible to remove the entire lens assembly off the CRT gun. The are 4 giant bolts holding the lens assembly, but I wanted to know if I can remove these and have the lens separate for the tube. Also is the coolant in the lens, tube, or in between.

Thanks again

From link:

Quick guide to removal/install of crt:
Tighten the lens adj nut.
Remove crt board, svm board/windings, yoke/windings, ground wires (suggest labelling/marking posistions so you don't end up with an upside-down picture), and HV anode from Flyback/Tripler.
Unscrew from mount, lift out.
Detach lense assembly from tube.
Split, Clean, Refill, Seal.
Now put crt back in, assemble in reverse, apply power and hope for the best.
You will have to do mech convergence, digital convergence, hardware grayscale, and maybe SM grayscale.
If you are doing more than one, do them one at a time (get mech convergence close on the new crt before removing the next one).

If you look 4 phillips screws hold the lens on. With the lens off you'll see 4 more hex screws. I use a 3.5 mm socket. You can split the tube. It's been awhile. You pull the top of the tube off, it reveals a gasket and the colored lens. Remove the gasket and lens.

I forgot to mention, there are small droplet of liquid in the CRT. There is no way to get to them.

Thanks

HI

I guess I will change the coolant.

Also there is no way into the lens of the CRT.

There is only one plug to drain/fill the tube.

I stand corrected. I forget Phillips equals cheap. Stick with changing the fluid. Also wipe out the inside of the tube also. I use windex and paper towels,

There should be 1 screw holding the block in. You should be able to scoot the rubber boot up and it should unplug?
