Need to replace the "backup" capacitor that keeps enough of a dc charge to back up the tuning data. It is usually rated at .047 to 1 milifarad(not micro) & located close to the processor & or display Ic---very common failure among all brands of receivers & a great gravy repair Smile

I'm in the same situation, except my receiver is an AVR65. Can anybody help me with this?

Question The memory backup system of the Harman Kardon AVR 45 receiver doesn't work.
