Hi Torbjorn

Many thanks indeed for the reply and I do apologise for the delay in repying. I have been on leave and have just returned. However, I will check what you have suggested but in the meantime, would anyone have a schematic to assist me with.

Kind regards

John.

Usually, such relays are used to protect the speakers from DC that can be supplied from the amp in case of a fault in the output stage. Check that the output stages get both positive and negative supply voltage and, if they are built with discrete components, check the output transistors and other semiconductors for faults, in particular shorts.

I would appreciate if someone could advise me of what could be the cause of no sound in an Aiwa FD-N636 audio hi fi system. Everything else is working fine except for no sound. What I have noticed is that the two relays is not being energised at switch on and without a service manual I am at a lost as to what energisers these two relays.

Grateful for any help with this fault.

Many thanks and kind regards
