|
I have an RCA tv. Im unsure of the model ---CRT---. Several months ago i came home to find my tv colors all of of whack. I turned it to the "blue channel" (no input) and the color was mostly red w/ green down the center. It has since seemed to settle at blue (good) in the upper center and green along the right side swooping down thru the bottom and commng up again up the right side. The thing is however that its not always messed up. Sometimes its perfectly fine. Other times its not. It seems to ALWAYS be messed up when i wake up and turn it on. When i get home from work its like a 10/90 chance that it will be good. When I turn it on cold ican always hear the degauss kick on and then the static sound. So im confused....I was told to replace the thermistor by somebody but it seems to me that if i can hear it degauss that wouldnt be the case. I bought a degaussing colil on ebay, it came from china and it says it needs 220 to run and the prongs are like steel or aluminum and wont go far enough into an outlet. So no luck there! can somebody please help me shed some light as to what may be causing this? And no, there arent speakers or anything near it.
---Dont know if it matters or not but while I was moving it was unplugged for 2 days and when I turned it on it was perfect again for a day or 2. (it was like that before I moved).
Thanks in advance
