Rejuving the CRT may give you set a few more years, if done correctly.

crt emission has fallen to the point where the akb circuit is struggling to compensate, any "fix" other than replacement of the crt will only be temporary, a slight adjustment of screen control or removal of the heater feed resistor may mask the symptom for a short period.

Hello I have a old Sony KV-29 K5U TV that has developed a fault, when turned on from a cold start (after its been fully off for some time) the TV relay clicks as normal and the TV starts to warm up, then the standby LED flashes 5 times then it flashes 5 times again, it re pets this until it fully comes on, then is works fine, when i turn it off and back on it work fine with out any blinking LED, it only happens after it has been off for some time.

according to the service manual this is a error 5 AKB.

please let me know what component is gone faulty I believe that the AKB is part of the A BOARD IC301 CXA2060AS IC (chip) according to the service manual.

do i need to get a new one?

is it the ic at fault or is it some other component?

it work fine after it warms up, so i was thinking that it may be an capacitor issue, as it may be taking time to fill.

please help

any help is welcome

thanks
