Thanks jts1957...That's a great link for someone like me. I've done plenty of soldering and some component replacement, but it is the diagnosis part I'm weakest. I'll bookmark it for sure. I have indeed looked for bulging/leaking caps, but I see nothing.

I wonder if anyone may have encountered this...Press power button (with or w/o signal cable attached) acer logo appears for less than a second then about 20 seconds later the green power light turns amber. That's it screen stays dark. There are 3 boards which I've looked over for burnt components or cracked solder with no luck. Does anyone known which board is at fault? I would describe the boards this way: 1 green board with logic like components (main pcb?) 2 tan pcb with the AC input w/ large caps and heat sinks (power source?) 3 Blue/green board one 14 pin input connector with 6 identical 2 wire output connectors to the LCD screen, this board has 12, what I'd call, HV transformers (inverter pcb?).

I'd like to figure which is at fault, then where to buy the board. Any help is certainly appreciated. Thanks, dave
