No, this is Not a software upgrade issue. The information written in the ROM is designated to see no more than the 80 GIG. Can not be changed.

If it is a software issue then surely a firmware upgrade would be all that is required. Email panasonic technical.

Hi,

I am looking for a service manual for one of the newer Panasonic DVR's with an internal hard disk. Some of the possible models are DMR-E500H, DMR-E95H, DMP-EH50 and DMR-E100H. I am trying to find out how to upgrade my DVR with a higher capacity hard disk.

Thank you.

Not possible/practical--- w/out major modification. Capacities of all their units are software controlled meaning that you could use pretty much any size IDE hard drive, but it will only see it as original
