Most likely, the trip computer for some reason does not get a proper signal from the tank level sensor and/or the consumption signal from the engine management system.
Many cars (at least most Ford models, i don't know exactly about Renault) have a double tank level sensor, one part is used for the trip computer and the other part for the fuel gauge.
If you currently have cold weather, the problem could be due to icing in the tank level sensor. In that case, the problem can be temporarily solved by putting the car in a warm garage overnight. |

|
Hi all,
I wonder if anyone can shed some light on a little minor problem of mine.
I have a 2004 renault clio 1.5 DCI.
Recently the trip computer has stopped calculating my MPG, it is just flashing with the following -----
My average speed is still working, miles from a to b still working, but gallons remaining and MPG are just flashing.
I have tried resetting with the button on the dash etc, but no joy.
Can anyone give me any ideas please?
Thanks in advance |
