check to make sure you have no bad speakers or shorted speaker wires. the entire audio output will shut down if only one wire sees a short.

i have a dual model #xdm-7615 that i am putting into a 1996 chevy corsica. i have all of the wires connected correctly but there is no sound coming from the speakers. the cd player powers up fine and i know it is playing because i can see the cd tracking. i took a speaker that i know works and hooked it straight into the cd player from the harness. There was no sound. i have a hard time believing that the unit it blown, hopefully just some sort of protection mode it has entered. Any suggestions at all? please let me know your feedback...
