How about posting some photo from exteriors and internals of the tellye ??

( BTW if you're loosing your patience quickly, remember:
for any exactly diagnosing of correct working of any tellye function via remote control, you need surently an ORIGINAL ONE or at least ONE known with precise and right match of all functions and related corresponding produced function/signal).

Discalimer: I have zero knowledge about televisons or electronics, also zero tools.

I've salvaged a CRT style color television from the trash. No remote control with it. No way to find or question the original owner.

Toshiba model CF27H20. Toshiba site produces no results for this model in their troubleshooting utility.

My Avex universal remote can turn this on/off, and can move the volume bar UP. That's it. No remote control over channels, or volume down.
Audio is only coming out at odd times over one TV channel, and at no other times.

Manual button pushing on the set itself brings up all the usual (contrast, color intensity) and a page showing TV / Video 1 / Video 2. Hooked up a DVD player with RCA cables, nothing is showing on screen, just static.

I'm looking for a place that can walk a newbie through the process of determining whether or not to just put this back into the trash.
