1) Go to the link I provided.
2) Download the Owners Manual.
3) READ the Owners Manual.
4) Your questions should then be answered.

| Is the remote required for operation? I do not have it. Do I have to set up some video function through the remote/gui to get video output? thanks so much. |

Simple troubleshooting from user manual:
No picture.
Connection is incorrect.
\ Check that cord connections are correct and that
plugs are firmly connected.
Player settings are incorrect.
\ Check that VIDEO SELECT is set firmly in the
correct position.
Operation (settings) of TV or AV component is not
appropriate.
\ Be sure that your TV or AV component is set up to
view DVD playback.
External input settings are incorrect.
\ Check that the power of the component to be
used for external video input has been turned on.
\ Check that the Setup screen General menu
“External Input” setting is correct (page 68).

|
| I have a pioneer dv-f727 that i recently purchased used. They said it was tested, and when I recieved it, there was no video output on any of the available outputs. Can anybody out there point me in the right direction? I recently obtained a service manual, but it does not state that problem in the troubleshooting! Please help! The disc will play normally and has audio output. |
