what is the best procedure?
how to know whith analog meter the diode is short or leckage |
SET YOUR TESTER TO X10K ANY READING IN REVERSE SIMPLE MEANS LEAKAGES...OK? |

newone:
You can't check the SPEED of ultra-fast diodes with analog meters.
You can check forward/reverse conductivity to see if they are functioning basically like a diode, but that will tell you nothing about switching speed. You need a sampling 'scope to check rise and fall times.
Let us know if you are only trying to test for forward/reverse conductance or are trying to test for rise and fall times.

Can you measure resistance (Ohm) with your meter?
If so, a short should measure 0 - 10 Ohms
A good diode should measure infinitive resistance ( > 1000 M Ohms) in one direction and a few K Ohms in the other direction.
