Guys, I need your help
I have a Hitachi CM776ET CRT Display.
Since a week ago it started giving me trouble bending the image to the right and shifting it a little. The magnitude changed over time, so is was impossible to correct.
Yesterday we experience some brief power outages/surges/who-knows that made my lamps blink and my computer shut down. I turned it on again, but the display won't.
The display's LED would lit and there's a faint hum sound (like TVs do), but absolutely no image and no degauss bang sound.
I opened it up, cleaned the (not too much) dust with an air-compressor and tested the fuse that I saw near the power plug with a multimeter device while still in place (was too deep inside) - It seemed fine, but the display is still dead.
This is such a bad time for me, and the display is pretty heavy and too difficult for me to take and shop around - there's no shop in my vicinity. And my replacement monitor is unbearable...
Can you tell what is wrong? If I go to a technician, then they probably replace the transformer block, won't they? I would like to at least be able to ask for prices over the phone, so that I know whether to repair and where.
Thanks in advance,
