DVD Player Problem

Got another problem. I had an earlier post, "Sony Stereo Problem" and haven't had the time to see if I can repair it yet. I've been playing my CD's through the DVD player. Now it's acting up. Sometimes it stops playing the CD at no certain time, but most time around middle of CD. What is usually the cause of this problem? It also has been involved in the move but also was handled very gently.

Clean the optics with a q-tip and isopropyl alcohol.
