Toshiba Laptop does not start up, blank screen

Good day,

I have a Toshiba Satellite A135-S4527 when I power the computer on the power button lights up on the front and but the device does not start up and the screen stays blank. The screen is also blank when i connect an external monitor. There is no hard drive activity. I opened the cover and noted that the fan turns for about 5 seconds and stops. CPU gets fairly hot. What could be the problem?
