Not a bit Smile I had high hopes with my previous attempt, and I REALLY hate giving my wife an opportunity for an "I told you so"!

Hi guys.

I have read through this thread and also through this one http://forum.eserviceinfo.com/viewtopic.php?t=31800 based on a 51uwx20b which has the same chassis as mine.

I have a similar sounding problem with my Hitachi 46F500 (Chassis #DP23).
I just wondered if someone could confirm for me.

My family was watching it last night and it just went out on them
No picture, no sound, TV powers on (power button on front lights up).
I can hear a clicking noise and D940 is flashing (green LED), D915 (red LED) is more of a pulse (bright, dim, bright etc) than a flash. All other green LED's are on solid.

I am not an electronics guy so to speak. A friend of mine is and he will gladly help me out. I was just hoping to get all the information together for him.

Thanks

The wife said the picture went a little fuzzy before they shut it off and when my son try to use it later the power light came on but no picture, sound etc.

So then i should check the following items

E901 through E911 for my set
C707
RK42 3.3 ohm
RK46 1.8 ohm
RK58 4.7 ohm
RK62 2.2 ohm
RK50 2.7 ohm
RK54 1.8 ohm all 1 watt

Order 2 stk392-180, plus any bad resistors

Am i forgetting about anything?

PostPosted: Fri Aug 28, 2009 2:38 pm    Post subject: Still shutting down after replacing C707 and E994 Reply with quote

Hello to all, love the posts!...I recently bought a 50UX58B for 25.00, and had some convergence issue that I was able to adjust, however the picture has then failed with some warping so I remove the board and found some dry solder points on the IC's which I fixed, I then replaced the board and it was shutting down after powering on, so I assumed it was the C707 and E994 which I replaced but it is still shutting down..
I have 2 questions:
1. Could the IC chips be causing the shut down? ( I was going to replace anyway)
2.My second question pertains to removal of the board, while doing this the first time I pulled the spring out of one of the plugs on the flyback Transformer, can I replace? would that cause the shut down? I did not have it plugged in the last time I powered on and it still shut down.

Should I trash the unit...I am only out about 40.00...or should I continue?
any suggetsions would nbe greatly appreciated.

P.S. Great Forum by the way!

Replace the convergence IC's and if the wire is not plugged in all the way or not at all the set should/will still start.
