Faulty Gate motor

My automated gate only opens halfway and stops, I noticed the low Battery led lights up. I replaced the battery and its still doing the same problem. please help. Sad

What kind of gate is it?
What motor drives the mechanism?
What are the connections like?
Are there limit switches in the circuit?

It's a sliding gate, motor looks like a car wiper motor, I checked connections etc, seems to be fine. I dont think there's limit switches.
To me it seems as if the circuit board is faulty. diode or something is faulty. PCB 0000 010k. I also checed the voltages both 220V ggoing to transformer, output from transformer is 18V and battery is 13.8. thanks.

Does the motor have the correct voltage across it's terminals while it is operating?
Is the gate sticking or jamming half way? Maybe there is overcurrent sensing and the gate is tripping out on overcurrent? Maybe the gate needs cleaning and regreasing?
With the battery 13.8 volts it seems that the charging circuit is O.K. Is there a relay that drives the motor? Maybe the contacts are burnt? Testing the voltage at the motor should tell you this. Does the motor smell burnt at all? How hot does the motor get?

Let us know what you find.
