Correct speakers for Sony STR-NX1 amplifier

I want to buy additional speakers for my Sony STR-NX1 amplifier to get as good a sound as i can get and currently i only have the "front speakers" which have an impedance of 6 ohms and there are outputs for "rear speakers" and "super woofer".

Currently the sound seems too bassy. Any idea what speakers i should buy to balance out the sound? Or would I be better off replacing it - its quite old.

No disrespect to your Sony, but that unit has, to be gentle, never graced the pages of Stereo Review magazine. Any time you connect a set of good quality speakers to a low-power amplifier such as yours, you risk damage to the speakers. Your best bet is to get something new.
