I changed the 3 1000uF capacitors and the problem is still there. The N3856VA chip still gets hot.
So my only options now are to get a replacement N3856VA chip or a new power supply, correct? |

That's out of the question. That is why I got a broken TV in the first place. I want a cheap TV. I think I am just going to go with alain28's suggestion of using two diode rectifiers and beefing up the heat sink. I'll probably epoxy a small CPU heatsink on the metal piece above the 24V capacitors and add a small fan to blow air through that area.
A replacement PSU is about $50 and the diodes are only a few dollars. |

Asking again if anyone can help me sort out the wires on connector CN701 going to the inverter board from the top of the power supply board. I got a set from someone who butchered the connector and I am trying to fix the mess they made. 10 wires, colors are black, brown, orange, red, gray, white, yellow, green, blue and violet. Just like the resistor color codes. Can someone look at their connector and tell me the order of the colors from left to right? Thanks. |
