I have successfully fixed my monitor exactly as described above - many thanks for some very good advice.
I replaced the 2 capacitors which were Hermei 1000uF, 16V, 105 degrees. I only had 1200uF, 16V, but they have worked just fine.

Hi CasparV,
I'm glad to hear the instructions helped you also to fix your screen. I have fixed mine some time ago and it is still working fine. The capacitor-problem seems to be a very common problem with those type of screens.
