Philips tv model 28pt4523/05, chassis MD1.2E ?
Line output transistor short circuit.
Replaced and worked for 4 hours and went s/c again.
Any idea what is causing this ???
No schematics need a helping hand ...

Hello,
First off all it is important to replace the Output transistor by the same type.
Second : You will have to check on the solder joints of the connector of the deflection coil (I mean the big coil around the tube )
It is also possible that the blue disc capicitor 1.5 nf 2000 Volts ( very close to the line output transistor ) has a crack and sometimes goes short circuit.
I hope you can repair your tv now.

It,s always a good idea to resolder the line driver transformer pins after output transistor replacement, I have been caught out on this one before.
