Minnie, Replaced convergence resistors and I was able to adjust, picture is perfect...thanks for all of you help.. you are awsome!

Just wanted to say I found this thread after about 2 horrible hours searching the net Shocked

I picket up the set 2 days ago for free and I think this may be the C707 and E994 may be the answer. Fingers crossed, I will let you all know

Help! I can't find C707 or E994 any where on the board even with the help of the pictures?

Hi,
I am having the same problem BillW had stated on page 8. I can bring up the TV menu, but when a DVD player etc. is hooked up to any of the AV inputs it displays a black screen with audio. I hooked up the DVD player with the same cables to another TV and it worked fine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My 50UX58B just died last night, and I found this thread. Of course, I know that I should just replace it, but it is kinda like a family friend at this point and like to try to fix things. Luckily I found this thread, and the likely fix seems pretty easy. Does anyone have copies the pictures from the early parts of this thread? Most of them don't load anymore. Sad

I took the back off already, but without the pictures it is hard to guess which parts I need to test.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have a 53UDX10B that popped and now just front RED light blinks with no picture nor sound. Green DP35 blinks.

Any suggestions?

I checked my board and the parts are exactly as described. Visually it is clear that the cap is bad, and my meter shows no contunity on the protector. Unfortunately, Encompass no longer seems to have the cap available. Can someone help me with a second source or an acceptable replacement part? (I'm not an electronics person myself, so I'm not sure how to find a replacement, and so far Google hasn't turn up an alternate vendor for me.)
