Looking for help in fixing. Tracking does not affect the snowy picture at all, cleaned it but made no difference. I'm thinking it might be the head switching or perhaps a bad head but don't have service lit and can not find the test point for the head switching to check the wave form.
Have little to no experience with Beta machines but have worked as tech on loads of VHS and TV's in the 90's. |

Indeed.
Anyway, Bad head due to wear or bad pre amp.
Check signal path (even without schematics, check elko's).
Oh and befor all, a good check of all supply's isn't a bad thing for that oldie.
(Believe me, get service schematics manual..........)
