I too am currently trying to figure out a power supply FSP204-2F01 (out of Veiwsonic LCD32TV…).

I can’t figure out how to test IC3 & IC2 because I don’t know what they do.

any thoughts?

john98103. Rather than testing these IC's could you tell us what the symptoms are? Are you missing 5 , 12, or the 24 volts?

I have a power supply for one of these flat panels and it had 5 bad electrolytics which I replaced on the secondary side of the supply, there also 3 smd resistors missing, they are rs1 rs8 and rs34, with out them on the board I have no way of identifying the values of these and I need to know their resistance values so I can replace them. Also signs of excessive heat are indicated at the solder joints of QS2,4 and CS13 and 15 Rs29 and 35 all of the damage to this board is contained to the area surrounding IC1 so I am assuming it is trash too! Can anyone furnish info on this FPS212-3F01 so I can attempt to revive it or should I just splurg and spend the $150 for a new supply? I think FPS stands for F&*^I$@ Piece of S(@T !!! I am taking notes on the repairs noted from this site so that IF I have too much trouble with this unit, like keeping it working I can change out the underrated transistors and give it all the help and chances it can get. I thank whom ever in advance if they can provide me with the info I seek!!! "OLD man trying to learn new tricks" with these great inventions if they would just work like they used to back when all that they needed was a good whacking on the top to make em straighten out and fly right, come to think about it some kids could use that too!

i have a viewsonic 3250 too. i replaced all the bad caps.,15v zener, and q7. now i have the 5 volts but when i turn the unit on, the power light turns green but i don't have my 12 or 24 volts. the green light stays on for about 60 sec. and then it goes off. where or what do i check to figure out why i'm missing the 2 voltages?

Try checking Q11. It's not far from Q7; With the set in the "on" mode, the collector (pin by itself) should read about 13.2 volts. Anything under 13.2 volts then likely Q11 is your problem. It's a MMBT4403 or you can sub a 2N4403 if you're careful about bending the pins into the same configuration.

RS1 = 510 ohm, RS8 = 1000 ohm , RS34= I can't seem to find this on my board. With all your overheating and if IC1 is also trash, you may have way too many problems to solve. Might be a good time to consider replacing the whole thing.

I guess I forgot to log on before answering this.
