IC501 was my case too... it was obviously not soldered properly - probably a mass production issue!

LP801 does not connect anywhere - it is a ground loop to tie the power cables with instead of using ferrite

I have a SONY STR KSL5 house movies program which after about 5 minutes closes off with the phrase "PROTECT" in the displa. There are no bermuda on the presenter cords. If I change off then returning on again 10 minutes later it works for about 5mins then go off again.
