Hi Guys, for minor but annoying intermittent problems I was directed to a website to get a firmware upgrade. Dissaster !!!!! Copied the file to disc, put it in the recorder and it started upgrade. Disc tray didn't open at the end as per the instructions but I just left it running. Eventually it shut itself down. Now it won't start up - just displays "LOAD" on the display. Tried unplugging it for an hour but still sits there with LOAD when trying to power up. Left it displaying LOAD all night but no change.
Somebody suggested a factory reset but can't find how to do it. A suggestion was pressing Play/Pause button for more that 10 secs but it didn't do anything. Can't open DVD drawer. Anybody any ideas now please ? Can't even get the disc out now !!
Any help please ? |

I used to be involved with consumer electronics and did similar type of upgrade frequently. From what I remember, lf/when you ran in to this problem it usualy meant that something has gone wrong during the upgrade procedure and your eprom content is pretty much toast. Now, I am not quite sure if there is any way to backtrack short of replacing the eprom?
There is always a possibility that there may have been a failure in the unit.
What prompt you to do an upgrade? |
