Follow the multi conductor wire from the transformer board to the Main board. D701 (Bridge rectifier) is immediately to its left. _________________ You're over there, I'm over here. |

whatever, i followed the wire to the left and then down in the schematic and see that the + of C701 connects to the right of R609... when i measured that resistance it started out at almost nothing and climbed slowly up to 6.8k after a couple minutes, seemed like it would have kept climbing but i didn't know if i should keep waiting...
for C702, the + of that connects to ground, and there happens to be a wire that comes up to the top of the PCB just underneath the -, so when i measured that resistance it was similar to C701... started out low then climbed up to about 7k when i stopped measuring...
and as i mentioned for C706 it topped off around 12.5 kohms, that was actually C704 i measured
and C706 similar to C701,C702.... slowly goes up past 6k until i take off the probes |

NO Shorts.
Can you 'float' the primary of T1 (disconnect pin 1 or pin 4) and install a good fuse and see if it blows when first plugged into Mains? Also does pressing the power button actuate the relay on & pressing power button a second time turn relay off? _________________ You're over there, I'm over here. |

i'm not sure how to do that... all the wires are soldered in pretty tight... i guess i could try desoldering pin 1 on the multi-conductor wire where it connects to the Trans Assembly (43)? |

ah i think it has a memory of the last power state, so if i shut it off with the power button, then it doesn't click the next time i plug it in. in this case, the fuse doesn't get blown until i press the power button.... |

Item 62 has two pins on one side (Primary) and seven on the other (secondary). Unsolder and let float in mid air either of the primary wires.
I'd like you to leave unit in the 'Off' position, and let me know if for your last if it had a good fuse installed, blown fuse or No fuse.
I'm trying to narrow down as far as possible before any major disassembly is done. _________________ You're over there, I'm over here. |

yeah sorry... no edit button over here, must not be enabled on this forum.
okay pin 1 on the primary side floating, good fuse installed and plugged into mains. unit is "off" and the fuse is still intact. |
