Magnavox TV Problem

My Magnavox model # 25E501 appears to have defaulted to a factory setting that keeps going through an advertisement (?for lack of better term) that tells me why this should be my next TV - then goes through the features of the menu. It will not let me do anything - including tun it off - either from the remote or from the control buttons located on the TV. The only way to stop it is to unplug the set. Unfortunatly when I plug it back in it goes right back to the above program. How do I either reset it or get it back to a functioning model? Thanks so much!

Try pressing volume up and volume down buttons on remote at same time
