Dell D1626HT Sony trinitron monitor.. needs fix please help

okay. im a micro-electronic engineer student in australia and i'm trying to fix my friends monitor. The fault is the monitor 'stability control' is f__ked, the image is constantily disturbed by static and sits in the centre of the screen with about 2" border of nothingness around it, adjusting using the OSD does nothing to the picture.

after downloading the service manual off this site it said:
"Two common problems with this monitor are deflection faults resulting from failure of CXA2043Q, and video (colour) faults resulting from failure of FA4111 (colour will disappear after warmup - confirm IC is bad by using freeze spray ). Replacing the CXA2043Q requires above average soldering skills to not damage the main PCB during replacement."

as there is no image colour faults, i would assume CXA2043Q, but it doesn't outline the job of this circuit.

basically, is this the right part? is it worth doing? what parts and suppliers should i look at for replacement components? is it worth having a proffesional do this or just buy a new monitor?

any guidance would be greatly appreciated

This monitor is exhibiting a ripple edged trapizod deflection issue. About 40% compressed at the bottom and 10% at the top. I was wondering if anyone has replaced the CXA2043Q IC and if so exactly what problems it corrected and how difficult it was to replace. Is this a ball grid array mounted IC ? Any experiences shared would be appreciated. Thanks, Andrew.
