hi to all,

I have a tV set Sony trnitron 21 inch. we have a problem in Channel. this only one channel Ch7, eventhough use the remote to change channel is still the same. i also check the button on the front pannel to my tv set, but it working okay. some other Tech say the fault is Memory IC, but when change the mem. IC no channel was found its only White display..its there memory IC need to reprogram first before i connect to the circuit? please help me what the best way to do ican fix... thanks!

Your prob could be several things from tuner to eeprom to microprocessor to missing-low voltages- really- if r/p eeprom GET THE CORRECT ONE from supplier- could be any u/s comp in circuit- there are no magic wands to wave- then again most people say "it's the fuse, or the switch, or the antenna- if not then I'll drop the set to make it work!- & drop the set repeatedly from ever greater heights- & when set is completely buggered, bring it to a repairer to fix in 5 minutes for $5!.

put back old eeprom and suggest looking into tuner fault.either resolder tuner or replace.

But he sais if i'm not mistaken that he can change channels on the the set but not on the remote control, he wants our help but he do not supply us with Modle # and chassis# Why?

It is possible that this set has been "auto-programmed" with on ly one channel detected. Try entering setup and "auto-program" again with either an antenna connected or connected to cable. One other thing to look for is whether or not the set has been locked through parental lock.
