hi . . .i need some help with a central locking problem for a mk3 golf.

the driver door wont lock, but will if done from the passengers side (as will all the other doors). is this something to do with the wiring connector or the microsensor inside the locking module?

cheers,

Most cases of faulty central locking on the Golf III are due to broken wires inside the rubber bellow at the door post. Pull off the bellow and check if any wiring seems damaged.
If there is a fault in the locking module (very seldom), this will usually affect all doors in the same manner.

Thanks torbjorn, I had a feeling it might be the wiring in the door. . .I'll pop it open and let you knwo the outcome. . .

Hi... I have a similar problem...
The drivers door and the passenger door next to it opens, but the the other doors wont open :/
But in the fifth door you can hear the sound of a motor running or a pump, wahtevers inside of it... Very Happy
Any ideas or is it the same problem?

Thx in advance

In a Golf MK3, there is only one motor/vacuum pump that is used for all doors. Usually, it is fitted below the right tail light and it is integrated with the necessary electronics for the central locking. Similar (but not identical) units are used on most VW and Audi models from the 90's.

If now two doors on the same side of the car don't open, it is probable that the vacuum piping is damaged (leaking or blocked).
