Hi,

I knew if I become lazy, I would damage it and here i am.
I placed my mug of tea on top of it and yes, i spilt a bit inside.

it went onto standy, so i unplugged it, took it all apart and wiped the circuit boards dry. Not a great deal in there.

left it for a hour, plugged it all back in turned it on and it goes onto standby. i tried holding standby on and power on/off to reset microprocessor but it does the same still....fuse is ok in power supply.

according to manual the flashing standby button means short in speakers..
but i have tried connecting them and not connectiong them and no difference.

what a blundering mistake, this amp has been loyal since new in 2001 and i cant belive i messed it up.

any comments welcome.....i have no knowledge of electronics..

thanks

What kind of tea?
When the water in the tea has evaporated, it's possible that the residue
still conducts electricity.
Have a close look at the PCB traces that leads to the speaker terminals,
to see if you can find discoloration of any kind (depends on tea type Smile )

Be warned that amplifiers can have up to 150 volts on the secondary side,
charged in the filter capacitors (so it doesn't help to unplug the power cord),
so for your own safety, consult a friend who knows electronics before
you put your hands too deep inside....
